Restore information to your mobile device

Note   Backing up and restoring information is available only for Windows Mobile software for Smartphone 2003 and earlier and Windows Mobile software for Pocket PC 2003 and earlier.

If you have created files on your device since the last backup and donÆt want them deleted during the restore process, move those files from your device to your PC before restoring information.

  1. Connect your device to the PC. If the Sync Setup Wizard is started, close the wizard and connect as a guest.
  2. If your device does not automatically exit programs as needed, exit any open programs on your device.
  3. On the Tools menu, click Backup/Restore, and then click the Restore tab.
  4. Click Restore Now. Do not use your device until the restore process is complete. If you are connected as a guest, click Restore Now, and then select the name of the sync relationship you want to restore.
  5. Reset your device as specified in the device manufacturer's documentation.
